THE FUTURE'S BRIGHT AT KINGS LANGLEY CRICKET CLUB If this years colts achievements are anything to go by then the future is really bright at KLCC, with an unprecedented 4 age groups wining their respective Herts Leagues. Not only that but all 4 sides then all won their quarter finals or semi final knock out matches, to reach finals day. U9's The youngest side , the u9’s performed to incredibly high standards and won all 8 league matches, winning the group comfortably. In the process they beat teams from larger towns and bigger cricket clubs such as Berkhamsted, Tring and Chorleywood. In the quarter final they saw off Hitchin with an exceptional performance particularly in the field.
U10's The u10 side also won every game they played and won their league by some distance. In doing so they beat all clubs from higher senior players divisions, such as Berkhamsted, Watford Town, Langleybury, Abbots Langley and Redbourn. Once again, in the quarter finals they out played Weston on all fronts to deservedly secure their place at finals day.
U14's The u14 side played out of their skin this year, with only 1 defeat out of 8 matches and that due to a weakened side that night. The side won the league one again seeing off local rivals including Abbots Langley and Berkhamsted. This earned them a semi final shoot out against a very strong Bishops Stortford. But against the odds Kings secured a memorable and comprehensive victory.
U15's The u15 side have impressed in various competitions and in the Herts league they won every game they played seeing off clubs with strong colts traditions such as Abbots Langley, Harpenden and St Albans. As league winners they played Tring in the quarter final and stormed through to finals day. All year, our colts have played to a high standard but in a sporting spirit and we are very proud indeed of all our colts. It is testament to the hard work of the colts, the coaches and the commitment from parents alike. At KLCC we will carry on with our aim of providing a professional structured approach to cricket, having fun, but with a winning ethos at all levels.
